Pelham
Portland stone
45 cm tall
2009
I was commissioned by fellow students and artists who practice sculpture at Pelham Hall (also known as The Henry Moore Sculpture Studio, Morley College, London)  to make a small sculpture for our tutor, in apprectiation for her patience, positivity and inspirational guidance in the studio.

I worked directly with the stone and found the piece emerged as an abstract figure with some very organic blobby elements and other more angular geometric forms.

The flat edges of the blockishissness seen on the right enable the sculpture to 'lay down' on its side in order to be seen from an entirely different perspective.
